Jellyfish Research Laboratories, Inc. was established as a venture company from Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) in April 2009, based on results of Pre-venture program financially helped by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
Jellyfish mucin is a novel substance under license from RIKEN patent exclusively, and since it has a structure similar to the human glycoprotein lubricin, it is expected to be useful for the treatment of joint diseases and dry eye.
Currently, mass occurrence of jellyfish is observed not only in Japan, but around the world. Various arguments have been made about the cause, but it is not a problem that can be solved immediately. Therefore, we believe that by effectively utilizing jellyfish, we will solve the social problem by jellyfish.
We are committed to the application and development of jellyfish materials not only as cosmetic ingredients but also in various of life science fields such as pharmaceuticals and medical instruments, and then we contribute to solve social problems by jellyfish and contribute to the beauty and health of people.
We will continue to make efforts, and appreciate your continued support and encouragement.
